This thread has been created to kick-start Korea discussion. According to Wikipedia BETM is due to open at LG Arts Centre in Seoul next summer. 1st round of auditions have already been held.

I can't imagine how this is going to work in Korea. I know Wicked has opened in a non english speaking country, but it can be set anywhere in the world. Billy however, is set in a very specific area, and I'm not sure how Korean speaking Durham miners might work

If that kid with glasses wearing the plaid bermudas isn't a Michael in the making, I would be surprised.
And the theatre does look a bit like a cinema. It seems to be a multi-purpose performance venue more than a traditonal theatre.

It's very hard to imagine, I would like to see how this develops, I can't really picture it either yet! BETM in London has proven very popular with Asian audience members. I have never attended a show at the VP without seeing quite a few Asian audience members (often in Row A Stalls, and usually fairly young) enjoying themselves immensely, and once a couple of years back, there was a group of young girls staying in a room down the hall from me at my hotel. I overheard them talking excitedly. I didn't know what they were saying, of course, except I heard the words "Billy Elliot," and "Liam Mower" quite clearly.
