Interesting alignment of histories...

Martin Marquez was just playing a role on the new Vera series ( a detective series set in the North East around Newcastle, featuring a 'robust' actress/lead who doesn't mince her words).

And the link..?

The episode entitled "Old Wounds" revolved around an old corpse being discovered in a shallow grave revealing a murder committed and concealed within the melee of the confrontations between the police and striking miners in 1984.

Plenty of script references to the distrust between miners and police remaining to this day, scabs who desperately didn't want to be identified even now and the most hated of them all....informers who paid a heavy price...many years later.
