It looks as though McCoy Rigby will be putting on BETM for a short run at The Alex Theater, Glendale, CA, in February 2015:

(A bit of trivia: this classic theater hosted the premieres of National Velvet and Going My Way, with Elizabeth Taylor and Bing Crosby present for their own film's premiere.)

I think it an extension of the La Miranda show. McCoy Rigby hold the license from MTI to perform the show over the period that covers both La Comida's and the Alex Theater's productions. Quite a novel concept, if true....a sort of 'mini tour' for a regional production. I wonder if the dates in between the two will be filled in as well with other venues?

La Comida? Do you mean La Miranda?

If that's the case, it makes sense to mount this complex show for such short runs. Now if you could somehow link the one in Oklahoma City to this, I'd understand that one too.

If I can link a theater to a Mexican restaurant (La Comida), I guess I can link it to anything! Thanks for the correction.

Regional links are not unknown. Ogunquit Playhouse will have two such link up this year with Portsmouth's (NH) Music Hall: earlier this summer the same production of Grease was shown at both, and Mary Poppins will be reprised in Portsmouth in December (having started at Long Island's Patchogue Theater).

When I think back, how fantastic it would have been if Ogunquit's BETM had moved on to the North Shore Music Theater and then on to The Watermill in September..............

Jake Kitchin has announced he's playing the role of Michael at both the Mirada Theatre and at the Alex Theater. So it does indeed appear that the Alex Theater run IS an extension of the Mirada Theatre production.
