3 Tips for Surviving Summer Stock: Advice to Actors

Post by ERinVA »

In reference to the conversation about Summer Stock that took place in the Ogunquit thread, I thought this was interesting:

Every summer there are hundreds of actors who head out to various venues around the country to perform in regional productions, bringing both tried and true and innovative new theatre to audiences. The Virginia Shakespeare Festival, based on the campus of the College of William and Mary during summers, is one example of a long-standing regional summer theatrical venue.

I myself am looking forward to the VA Shakespeare Festival's production of "Illyria," based on Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night," tomorrow evening:

I saw the original production of this in 2006, and I laughed till I cried. I would love to hear that this show had made it to more venues around the country.
