Thanks for creating this list. Chris. It should help a lot in keeping up with the dates of the many productions coming up.

Thanks for doing that, Chris. At some point (as things develop) we may want to differentiate between regional productions that more or less resemble the professional version of the show, and those that may vary from the norm. There may come a point where MTI licenses a 'school version', which may vary in the same way the Billy Youth Theatre version varied from that at the VPT.

I would say this would be probable. It should be noted that MTI currently licenses "Jr." and "School Edition" versions of many other shows, to license to school and other youth groups.

I would have thought the Billy Youth Theatre model would work as a model for a school edition (script - Lee Hall; music - Martin Koch).

It will fascinating to read what Bishop Stepanic High School does with it - I believe it will be the first youth-oriented authorized production since the Billy Youth Theatre.
Stepinac's award-winning theater program is led by Portanova and producer Keith Sunderland, who said they learned the school, had secured the rights for the production on Thursday, even though the production materials from New York-based Music Theater International aren't yet ready.

Especially with it being an all-boys high school, you wonder how they might handle the characters of Grandma, Mrs. Wilkinson, Dead Mum, and the ballet girls. Surely they won't go the "Monty Python" route and have guys playing the female roles, complete with wigs, high-pitched voices, etc. . . . as funny as that might be.

The Stepinac Drama Club, which in conjunction with the young women of neighboring high schools, has more than 100 members each year.

Good find . . .thanks for clearing that question up for me (about how they would handle the female parts in the show).

Thanks Kport. Master list has been updated. May 12, 2016 is shaping up to be a big date in the BETM world, with three different productions opening.
