With the rapidly growing number of productions in the US and Canada I felt it a good idea to separate out the community and school productions from the professional ones. Here is the complete list of the known community theater and school productions of BETM announced or completed:

Thanks, CJ. I see that the Road Company is listed as a Community Theater. How do you make the distinction between Regional and Community? I attended the Venice Theatre production and it was one of the best productions anywhere, so the distinction could not be based on quality, since Venice is a Community Theater.

That's a very good point accessmenj. I don't believe Community Theaters should be lumped in with School or Youth group theater (not that some of the latter two haven't been of very good quality as well). But the difference is, in the latter two cases, the casts consist of all young people as opposed to age appropriate casting for both Regional and Community Theatre productions.

And you can't say the definition is all Regional Theatre casts are paid and all Community casts are not, because we often don't know if the actors are paid (unless the theatre advertises as an all Actors Equity shop). In many cases, in preparing the articles for theskykid.com's BETM coverage of the shows, we are sent cast lists for shows that definitely have mixed Equity and non Equity cast members. We know that because very often the actors who are members of Actors Equity are asterisked (*) on the cast lists.

So, in order to eliminate the confusion that separating the two causes to the Forum's readers, I'd be in favor of combining the list of Regional and Community Theatre productions, as we do at https://betm.theskykid.com/billy-elliot ... und-world/
