The extra matinee that was listed for Liverpool on Tuesday 23rd May has suddenly disappeared off the list this afternoon. When I looked earlier this morning there were very few tickets sold.

Wrong. That number is shy of a century!

I've questioned that number before. Apparently it's a number being put out in press releases by BETMUK and accounts for only those professional productions for which the London production company has had some direct involvement. So no regionals, community theatres or other productions of BETM that doesn't fit the above description. I believe if they're going to throw out a number like that, they should put that caveat on it, as it's unfair, in my opinion, to the other Billys not included, many of whom have given excellent portrayals, and have worked so hard to attain the role and excel in it.

Seems odd, as Old Vic Productions (or whatever it is called these days) will have profited from every production and every Billy (and others), through production or licensing. It would have every right to claim some pride in every Billy that has done this show.

Interview with the Billys by Guide Liverpool. If I heard correctly, Emile said he will open the show (May 10). The press night is usually the second night, so maybe Adam will perform Thurs 11 as surely it would make sense for Liverpool born Adam to be in the local press.

Vlog about a fan seeing the Milton Keynes show. The same fan did vlogs about her trips to see the show in Bradford and Bristol, which were posted on here previously.

THE curtain will come down on the first touring production of Billy Elliot The Musical this month and for one 12-year-old Lancashire lad that means sleeping in his own bed and a return to lessons at Haslingden High.
Henry Farmer will have played Michael, Billy’s best mate in 13 different venues, all over England as well as Cardiff, Dublin and Hamburg. He performed on stage in front of 3,000 people in Edinburgh and will have spent three quarters of the last 20 months away from his family and friends.
It’s bitter-sweet for Henry. He telephoned his mother Julie, 48, to ask: ‘What am I going to do when it ends? I am going to lose all my brothers and sisters.’

Just bringing down the curtain on the tour, two videos from Hamburg by Tom Bainbridge, mainly backstage, showing the ensemble cast at work. Fitting that they celebrate final night by drinking Newcastle Brown Ale. It finishes at the airport where some of the young cast are assembled to go home.
