Here is the publicity video for BETM at the Playhouse on the Square (which, at 347 seats on two levels, may be the most intimate theatre production yet):

Looks great! The set (what we can see of it) reminds me of the one earlier this year at Drury Lane, ie: the corrugated metal walls.

In the Expressing clip at :44, it looks like Evan is wearing a wig in addition to the skirt and such. That's an interesting twist on Michael's dressing up.

From the tone of this article, it appears that this will be a very personal interpretation of BETM:

Would you like to see the show for free? Perhaps be 'in house' while the cast warms up before each show? See what happens before the house doors open, and after they close? Stuff programs (and pick the stuffings up off the floor after)?? Here is your big chance!:
Various Dates — Playhouse On The Square seeks volunteers during “Billy Elliot.” Usher duties include seating patrons, passing out programs and light cleaning after each performance. As an usher you are welcome to watch the performance without purchasing a ticket — a free show for not much work. Performance begins at 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Benjamin Cheng and director Jeffrey Goldberg appeared on a local morning TV show today to promote Playhouse on the Square's production of BETM.

The video clip of their appearance contains an interview with both and then Benjamin performs Electricity:

Just about now, the final curtain should be falling in the final performance of BETM in Memphis.

Congratulations to all the cast! Happy trails!

It is rare when a theatre posts 15 minutes of a previous production as part of its 'POTS in the Vault' series.
