Chat About Tulsa Performing Arts Center

The cast is now listed for the Tulsa production for this coming April/May. I don't see any familiar names from past productions, so they may be going with local talent. http://tulsaprojecttheatre.com/auditions.html

In doing a Google search on Ford Mirowski, who will play Billy, I discovered a family blog which indicates Ford is from the Springfield, MO area (about 3 hrs from Tulsa) and that the lady who has been cast as Grandma in the production, Sharon Bernie, is Ford's real life grandma. That's got to be a first in Billy lore. :D

This is worth noting - TPT is not 'amateur community theatre':
Tulsa Project Theatre is the city's only Actor's Equity Association affiliated organization.

Since producing its first performance of The Rocky Horror Show at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in 2010, Tulsa Project Theatre has become the city's only Actor's Equity Association, the union of professional actors and stage managers, affiliate. Last season TPT entered into an agreement with Tulsa Symphony and Local 94, the musician's union, to have the professional orchestra perform in all musical productions. In September 2014, the organization opened Academy Tulsa Project Theatre offering professional training in vocal, acting and stage performance. Academy classes are open to everyone and need-based scholarships are available courtesy of the Anne and Henry Zarrow Foundation and the Tulsa Project Theatre Board of Directors.

According to this Facebook post, Ford took part in the National Tour of Camelot when it came to the Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts last February:

This is an older video, in which he may be auditioning for the role of Michael!

Not a first for relatives (who was it this year or last who played Dad and Tony as real life father and son?), but yes, I believe that's a first for the Billy/Grandma connection. Very cool!!!

That was in Raleigh, Sean......Ira David Wood III played Jackie, and Ira David Wood IV played Tony. In addition, IDWIII's daughter (and IDWIV's sister) was married to Jamie Bell, and their child is both grandson and nephew to the Woods #III and #IV.
