NBC Announces that Peter Pan Will Be Aired Live in December

No cast announcement yet. And don't get me wrong, I don't want to start a gender war, but... If Peter Pan isn't played by a boy this time, I am going to 'BOYcott' the performance and refuse to watch it.... How do you like them apples Cathy Rigby.

Who knows......NBC could 'Americanize' it by casting Sissy Spacek as 'The Coal Miner's Daughter Billie Elliot', with music by Loretta Lynn, set in a Kentucky coal town, with Mitch McConnell as Dad and Rand Paul as Tony......................

After all, NBC's last telecast of the musical version of Peter Pan starred J R Ewing's real mum as Peter Pan back in 1955, 1956 and 1960.

I guess this is good in that they didn't cast someone based on celebrity star power and name recognition alone. Hopefully this means she was selected based on her talent.

Apparently their exhaustive search for a young male performer who has stage experience and can sing, dance, act, and fly came up empty. It's understandable though. I can't imagine in what circles they would be able to find a person such as the one I described.
