Re: Finding Neverland
The Sunday January 24th evening performance was one for the ages, a fantastic farewell to Matthew Morrison. The entire cast was at the top of their game, not least of which was Alex Dreier as Michael. Hard to believe it is 4 years since he was part of the closing of Billy Elliot on Broadway. But I digress.
It was an unplanned meeting but great to see fifemajor able to overcome the LIRR outage to attend the event. I'm sure we'll see some great photos of his pop up soon. Which likely will include the special onstage visit after the final curtain call from Diane Paulus, Gary Barlow and Eliot Kennedy as well as Aidan Gemme. This was one magical performance for one truly magical show.
To touch on another topic from Media, audience participation was quite elevated for this performance. Sure, for someone seeing Finding Neverland for the first time, it may have been a bit too raucous with the superfans expressing extra appreciation in a lot of places, but it was quite understandable given the occasion. And it sure seemed like the cast responded positively to the crowd feedback.

Re: Finding Neverland
Sandy Duncan, who was Tony-nominated for her performance in the 1979 revival of Peter Pan, will join the cast of Finding Neverland, as Madame du Maurier, on Feb. 9th.

I'm happy to hear this. There were rumors about it for the past few days. I saw her as "Peter Pan" back when I was in high school. Hard to believe that was 37 years ago.
Re: Finding Neverland
I agree. And with Kelsey Grammer back, this show proves to have real 'star power'.

Laura Michelle Kelly congratulates Alex on his promotion with a nice video:

In other Finding Neverland gossip, Tony Yazbeck will apparently leave the show after a short run to originate the role of J.M. Barrie in the West End production. In New York ,his shoes will be filled by Alfie Boe, who will move a block over from the Imperial theatre where he has been starring as Jean Valjean in Les Mis.

Re: Finding Neverland
I had just noticed the other day that Alex's name in the cast list now has Peter among the roles he plays. Congrats Alex!

Re: Finding Neverland
Man, this show seems to have a lot of drama among its cast. Sandy Duncan, who just came aboard last week, has left the show.
