It's official: BETM will come to the Netherlands

Stage Entertainment appears to have taken a leaf out of the London production's book in this regard.

As I've noted before, of all the recent productions of the show, there seems to be a very close relationship between London and the folks in The Netherlands. So this latest strategy is not surprising to me in the least.

The next Billys have been cast! Unfortunately it will take a while until Stage Entertainment let's us know who they are.

This has always been Stage Entertainment's way of dealing with cast changes. I'm pretty sure that's how all professional production companies work. A company simply doesn't want to announce things too early, especially since these boys have just finished their training and only start rehearsing in January probably.

The post says "12 new heroes," so I gather there are 12 new boys coming up, and these are two of them.

The boy on the right is Sammy Kuit, he appeared with Maurice Wijnen (creative director of Stage Entertainment) on this program where he talked about the Billy Elliot Scool: http://tijdvoormax.omroepmax.nl/uitzend ... ber-2014/# When this was taped the final decision about new Billy's had not been taken yet, but seeing this picture I think it's right to assume he has become a Billy.

Would it be a safe assumption that not all 12 are Billys and that some are Michaels?

I would think so, but I guess we'll have to wait a bit to find out.

There's no doubt about that. A new children's cast for next year has been chosen a while back and none of the Michaels or Billys are allowed to do the show ofter 40 times. So most of them will leave the show around August and need replacement.
I also recall that there were supposed to be 6 Billys and 6 Michaels for the first year, but they failed to cast 6 Michaels and went with 5.
