Former Tavern on the Green Reopens as a Visitor Center

Visitors to NYC will now have a new visitor center and gourmet food carts when they visit Central Park. The former Tavern on the Green, which closed last January, has been reopened as a Visitor Center:

Looks like kind of a lame use for such an iconic spot. They could set up food carts anywhere in the park. As it gets colder, they probably won't even operate the food carts since people won't want to sit outside and eat. Hopefully they'll find a better use for the building to showcase its fancy decor and great view of the park from the inside dining rooms.
