According to an interview with Lee Hall, the screen play for Billy Elliot was written in Hillsborough, North Carolina. So, in a way, Billy Elliot will have come full cycle when the 2nd Tour of Billy Elliot the Musical opens in Durham, North Carolina next weekend.
