Among various bits of information in this article there is a notice that Davidson Parks and Rec. (Davidson was my town for the years I lived in NC) is offering a group trip to the matinee on January 13.

"Billy Elliot: The Musical"

Davidson Parks and Recreation also will offer an adult trip to see the 2 p.m. matinee of "Billy Elliot: The Musical" on Jan. 13 at Ovens Auditorium in Charlotte.

The musical is a celebration of one boy's journey to make his dreams come true. Set in a small town, the story follows Billy as he stumbles out of the boxing ring and into a ballet class, discovering a surprising passion that inspires his family and his whole community. It's is based on the film "Billy Elliot" and features a cast of 45 and the Tony Award-winning creative team of director Stephen Daldry, choreographer Peter Darling and writer Lee Hall, with music by Elton John.
