What is the longest Billy walk at end of show

Post by andrewcraig »

I have been to two large theatres in the last few weeks and often wonder what BETM might be like playing in that theatre,

There have been threads about the huge places Billy is being staged in. I wonder what is the longest Billy has to walk, to change his shoes and run back for the finale?

The current tour stop in Denver is the longest I have seen in the three theaters I have seen Billy. He walks up a gradually rising carpeted aisle for 17 rows then 17 more rows of stairs to reach the back door of the theater. Pretty impressive when he re-enters. Here is a partial view showing the final stair portion and part of the initial section:

They can NOT do that dead run back to the stage with steep stairs...at least in Tempe it was a bit funny to see them take a zillion stairs as fast as they could without tumbling down them instead.
