Grandma's Song with Liam Mower and Ann Emery.

Anyone know what tv show this is from? The set looks soo familiar but I can't place it ...
I believe it was the 2006 30th annual Laurence Olivier Awards ceremony.
Billy Elliot also had two numbers during the awards ceremony. Ann Emery and Liam Mower performed “Grandma’s Song”. And, just after the show scooped the evening’s final prize for Best New Musical, the ensemble of miners – with their Spitting Image-style puppets of Tory politicians – performed “Merry Christmas, Maggie Thatcher”. After several minutes dancing on their chairs in the audience, various Billy Elliots ran up onto the stage to sing along with their co-stars.

The Billy Cast at the VP were involved in a program on Sky One today. With a few good shots of Harrison and a number of Ballet Girls. It revolved around Ashley Banjo of Diversity trying to teach a bunch of childrens' nurses a Street Dance to surprise their families etc. (they succeeded in the end of course, to a point).

Here is the BETM segment (updated link).

The link did not work, for me at least.

If Harrison is involved, it must be quite old. He left the cast in Nov. 2013.

Ashley Banjo's Big Town Dance episodes on Sky One ended last February, I believe.

I came across this video today about the making of the film, Billy Elliot. While the clip has a publish date of September 14th, I'm sure it was made years ago. It has French subtitles. My apologies if it's been posted before, but I had never seen it and I thought I'd post it for other Forum members who may not have seen it as well. It's well done and features interviews with Julie Waters, Gary Lewis, Stephen Daldry, Jamie Bell etc.

I can't watch too much of YouTube at work without getting a phone call from Human Resources, but I can tell you from what I saw briefly just now, that's just the making-of documentary on the original DVD release (also on Blu-Ray).

It was from a TV show called "The Sound of Musicals."

The Oliviers were not broadcast the year that the Billys won. The ceremony was held in a ballroom at the Park Lane Hotel.

Yes, great performance by Tade ! Seems like a very professionally-done video with the various camera angles. You don't often see that in these sorts of performance videos. Hopefully they will use multiple cameras like this when they film the show next weekend in London.
