This avowed city slicker was given a ticket to the Florida Strawberry Festival, a real celebration of strawberries (have you heard of a double-fried strawberry cheeseburger?) and country music. I am not a huge fan of country music (save Johnny Cash), but I went to see the evening's main act: Hunter Hayes, age 23. Now, he is a very accomplished performer: he opens for Taylor Swift and collaborates with Ed Sheeran; he plays 30 instruments. I predict he will be a household name in a year or two around the world.

There are numerous videos of him, on Youtube.

But forget the present: this young man's talent goes way, way back, to the age of four!:

This is an inspiring story about a soldier, wounded by an IED in Iraq, told through dance, in the week's US version of DWTS:

I watch DWTS regularly, and he has been doing very well. He is inspiring to watch.

Jonathan Lutwyche - Britain's Got Talent 2015

Post by kport »

This 15 year old from Gibralter, Jonathan Lutwyche, featured on tonight's BGT - he split the judges' votes (Cowell is not a fan of contemporary dance). The problem is (in my view) that he is far, far too talented for a variety show of this caliber which seems to prefer dancing dogs and hard luck stories. Judge for yourself:

I would imagine the exposure would help his career. The prize money would pay a lot of the tuition and other expenses. He would not be the first young male dancer to compete on a tv talent show (Arcadian Broad competed on America's Got Talent; Michael Dameski won Australia's So You Think You Can Dance).

Matthew Koon and Kaine Ward have also competed on TV on Got to Dance. One might argue that the shows focusing on dance instead of a variety of entertainment would be a better choice, but they all provide good public exposure for performers seeking to further their careers.

For an effective advert, Number 10 of these (first) is about as good as it gets.(clue: you may recognise the face, think SB/TB.). No need to watch all of them.
