Nick Evans was a terrific guy and always had time for the fans in and around the theatre. It was genuinely a great surprise when he moved on. I'm really glad that Tom remembered him in his speech.

Nice to see some of the former cast in that youtube video including current Tour Mr. B, Daniel Page, in various guises and wearing the famous zip-jacket :D .

Does anyone know where Dom Holland's book is being produced? Is it less expensive to buy it for a UK address? US? No difference? I hope he monitors this thread, and will put something abou this on the book's Shopify page!!

If he were to auction a few copies signed by himself and Tom for a good cause, I expect he could raise some serious money along the road of getting the book some publicity.

... an interview with the resident director, London, c. 2009, who was one of the two people Tom chose to thank in his Bafta award speech, Nick Evans. Seems a nice guy, and set me thinking about aspects of the show I hadn't considered before.

By the looks of it Dom is effectively self-publishing. The e-book has been available for about four years, and I know at that time, not surprisingly, he couldn't get a mainstream publisher. Self publishing is quite easy to do, they get printed in China or somewhere, and should get registered with an ISBN. I expect they are somewhere between the Azores and the Bay of Biscay at the moment.
Currently, it is only available from the Web site as far as I can tell. I don't know if he has other plans. His auto-reply has a help email, from that, I assume either the people who arrange printing etc or the Dominic's own people will handle the logistics. I'm not gong to publish the email, PM me if you want it.

I read one of Dom's earlier books, Only in America (free on Kindle!), https://www.amazon.co.uk/Only-America-D ... B00B35QKA0 and loved it. It takes place in both England and Los Angeles simultaneously, as I recall, which made for some cool daytime vs. nighttime/time change scenarios in your head as you read it. I've yet to read Eclipsed, though, but may have to pick it up soon. Speaking as a self-published author, I can tell you the quality of the book really depends on the author, and how many people said author asked to beta read (and edit) the book in advance. My first book, which Tommy Batchelor very kindly wrote the introduction for, was kind of a hit-and-miss mess for me, because I didn't take more time to learn the process before publishing. Four years and another four books later, I'm much more comfortable. That said, Only in America isn't perfect, but the story was both engaging and fun, which is the best reason to read any book. I'd highly recommend it!

Comedy Beats is promising a great show at its next event, at The Grasshopper in Tilgate, Crawley, on Friday, March 3.

This large reference for Tom Holland is copied from a large article.

“First up is the brilliant Dominic Holland. When I started, I really looked up to him and still do. He is a great observational comedian and a lovely man. I believe he is one of the best comics currently working on the circuit. He does fantastic routines about bringing up his family and the world we live in. He has done the Royal Variety Performance, so if he's good enough for royalty I figure he's good enough for Crawley. His son was in Billy Elliot in the West End and Dom helped him through his formative years in show business. Now he is pretty well known as the new Spiderman, Tom Holland. Yes, it's true the opening act for this gig is Spiderman’s dad. If you don't believe me come and see the show, I am sure he will talk about it.

I'd forgotten he started as Michael, at VPT. Is that accurate? (Cited in the excellent article mentioned two posts back.)

I'm sure if you scroll through this rather long thread you can find the information about Tom starting his Billy career as Michael.

If you want a shorter method of verifying this, here's a link to Tom's bio at betm.theskykid.com:

This article from the Hollywood Reporter is more about Spidey's character in general, but it includes great trailer footage featuring Tom:
