His last night was very emotional.

I remember day queuing from 3.30am (with some other forum members) on a very cold December morning wrapped up in blankets to keep warm! We had seats on row A of the stalls so it was worth it.

If I can recall, Matt Damon was in the audience, a few rows behind us that night too, and Colin Bates was chatting to him in the interval!

Here is Matthew among the participants in the Marjorie Davis Tap Finals back in February. Scroll down to the Senior Section.

He was a runner up in the Senior Section, and the winner of the Muriel Ashcroft Award for Artistry.

Aww. Thanks for posting that.

Matt's my most seen Billy and I'm very lucky (not to mentioned determined when needs be!) to have seen him so many times.

I still love the phrasing..like (pause) electricity..

Here what Wikipedia says about Matthew's outstanding dance achievements after BETM:
...He left Billy Elliot the Musical on Saturday 2 December 2006. Next to concentrating on his High School studies he is now working to further enhance and delevelop his dancing skills in both ballet and modern theatre dance.

On 13 April 2008 he won the Finale of the renowned Fonteyn Nureyev Young Dancers Competition of the Royal Academy of Dance (level 2) with a ballet performance and became "Young Dancer 2008". And a few weeks later - on 25 May 2008 - he won the "Outstanding Dance Award" in the "Senior Level" and the overall "Boys' Cup" for his contemporary presentation at the final of the prestigious 2008 Janet Cram Awards in Modern Theatre Dance. The same year he was the overall winner of the "English Dance Championships" at UMIST - University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology. In early 2009 he was nominated for the finale of the "Young British Dancer of the Year 2009" awards, and on 15 Feb 2009 he got a Class prize in the Finale of the "Senior Section" of the Marjorie Davies Tap Awards in London and was winner of the Muriel Ashcroft Award for Artistry...

“It is a great show that people do come and see. Because it's not
just a show for adults, or just for children, or just for people that
like theatre, I'd say for everyone, and it's got so much emotion
behind it. Because who ever comes and sees it, feels the story -
so I think: it's brilliant!" (GM)
