I've seen the film and found it very moving, especially the ending for obvious reasons. (I think Asa Butterfield is a terrific young actor, I loved Hugo and Ender's Game.) But I find this story a strange basis for a ballet. Perhaps that's the point. As a new convert to BETM I have no residual attachment to Matthew as Billy, but I'm kind of intrigued by this and am thinking a trip to Wolverhampton is not out of the question.ERinVA wrote:Matthew is featured as Bruno, one of the two young boys, in Northern Ballet's new ballet, "The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas."

Manchester-based dancer, actor and writer Matthew Koon will present Existential, a small collection of monologues and skits inspired by real-life experiences. Matthew explores the conflicts between how he expected his life to look at 28 years old and the actual lived reality. Unmarried, no kids, no house or stable job – awkwardly straddling the line of being too young to be a Millennial and too old to be Gen Z.
