Fast forward to 2:30 for an interview with Matthew Bourne and Ashley Shaw about Bourne's new production of "The Red Shoes." According to the discussion, Liam Mower was also supposed to be on, but he saved the production last night as "back-up Ivan," and then is on for the matinee today, so he could not be there for the interview as promised.

New Adventures has announced North American tour dates and casting for Matthew Bourne's double Olivier Award-winning production of THE RED SHOES.

"Ivan Boleslawsky" the role made famous by Robert Helpmann has been created by one of New Adventures finest young dancers, Liam Mower(the original West End Billy Elliot but now taking on his seventh principal role with New Adventures).

Two possibilities there for me. Either DC or Charlotte. DC is drivable for a matinee. Charlotte would require a longer visit.

I sincerely hope that they don't try to put the production into Ovens Auditorium in Charlotte. That was a mistake when BETM was there, and it would be a worse mistake for "The Red Shoes." Hopefully, it will go into the Belk Theatre, which a much better venue.

I saw "The Red Shoes" in Wimbledon on my last London trip, but I missed seeing Liam, as he was off that afternoon. :(

I love seeing Bourne's productions. However, of the ones I have seen, which include "Swan Lake," "Sleeping Beauty," and "The Car Man" in addition to "The Red Shoes," "The Red Shoes" is my least favorite.

Ivan Boleslawsky" the role made famous by Robert Helpmann, has been created by one of New Adventures' finest young dancers, Liam Mower (the original West End Billy Elliot, now taking on his seventh principal role with New Adventures). Also playing "Ivan" is popular company dancer, Danny Reubens, who triumphed recently as "Jack" in Lord Of The Flies.
