I ran across this video on youtube of Josh singing the Australian National Anthem before a horse race back in November, 2008. Not sure I've heard a better singing performance by any of the Billys than Josh does here. Enjoy.

I thought I had seen every tribute to the OZ Billys but found this just today. Obviously from someone close to Joshua a nice tribute

Well I came across this recent dance routine of Joshua and I though some of you might be interested in it:

Joshua was first replacement Sydney Billys. He comes from Tasmania and after he finished in the Australian season I believed he returned to finish his schooling.
I had been thinking of him recently as a friend staying with me this weekend ,tried to get him to perform at a Defense Forces charity function , 3/4 years ago without a reply.

The Rainbow Band a part time group is Melbourne based. Great find and I hope he will continue with his dancing. He from memory was mainly a singer. The concert was at Methodists Ladies College.

Joshua is studying at Patricks Studios in Port Melbourne. here is a snippet I picked up. He appears to be a very recent addition.

The Melbourne Rainbow Band is pleased to introduce our second dance artist for the 'Novel Sounds' concert on May 18.
Joining Taylor Scanlan on stage is the very talented Joshua Waiss Gates.

Joshua has been performing in professional musicals from a very young age. His professional stage credits include the title role of ‘Billy’ in ‘Billy Elliot – The Musical,’ and the young Peter Allen in Hugh Jackman’s ‘The Boy from Oz.’ He is currently studying musical theatre full-time at Patrick Studios Australia.

This link is a more personal tribute. It starts off with a little video from TV, but is fascinating look at him and his performance by someone close to him.

Maybe the videos could be better .

What scares me he will be 19 this year Where is the time going?
