The irrepressible, and thoroughly engaging, Thommie Retter has cast his exuberance on the good folk of Michigan:

(He would be the perfect Uncle Fester, on Broadway!)

They've just announced on their public Facebook page, and it's up on their website as well, that Thommie will be playing Daddy Warbucks too!
Our production of ANNIE will feature Guest Artists and Instructors in the lead adult roles. We are so excited to announce Broadway's Thommie Retter as Daddy Warbucks and Cassie Hohn as Miss Hannigan!

Thommie Retter (Billy Elliot) and Retter Entertainment provide unique opportunities for aspiring young performers through This Way To Broadway, a series of workshops culminating in showcase opportunities, including singing, acting, and dancing. The coming event, Almost There, will take place at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre at Symphony Space located at 2537 Broadway.
The show will bring together performers with a wealth of Broadway experience, and many others who aspire to reach the same heights.
The concert will take place on May 4, 5:00pm. Tickets are $30, $40 or $50. Call (212) 864-5400 or visit http://www.symphonyspace.org for tickets and more information. Or go to http://www.thiswaytobroadway.com.

Joining Thommie will be Alex Dreier (Billy Elliot, Finding Neverland); Sam Faulkner (Billy Elliot Ogunquit/Raleigh) and Brionna Trilling (Billy Elliot).

It sounds like a fun event!

Thommie and Retter Entertainment will be staging the next This Way To Broadway this coming Monday, December 14th. Here's the announcement in Broadwayworld:

http://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Th ... Y-20151208

The show features a large cast of young talent. In addition to Thommie, other names connected with the event who may be familiar to forum members are: Anthony Giunta, Brionna Trilling, and Ashley Lanzoni.

I am planning to attend this time, after hearing great reviews of the previous events. Is anyone else going?

Also listed are Leisl Landegger (sister of Brooks) and, of course, Thommie's daughters, Bella Retter and Liza Retter, who have taken part in The Big Maine Event.

I see also the name of Ethan Haberfield, who you may remember sang the amusing song, 'Don't Turn 13', which was posted in this forum last year.

Thommie Retter was visiting his home town of Grand Rapids, Mich. and appeared on a local TV station to announce his latest project, a reality show called “This Way 2 Broadway” about his journey of teaching and training kids to become Broadway performers.

Since this looks like a separate entity of its own I'm also starting a new thread for it under the 'other Shows - New York' category.

From Thommie Retter:
Please join me in supporting the NYC Tap Crew in our efforts to be stars on Broadway in this year's Dance Parade Saturday May 20th!

With you're help, we will be honored to host this year's Dance Parade Grand Marshal, legendary tapper MAURICE HINES on our own fully decorated parade float. All extra proceeds will be donated to Dance Parade's Community Engagment program that provides free dance classes throughout New York City's 5 boroughs. We're providing perks to help make this happen too.
