Re: Jamie Bell
I think Jamie Bell is awesome. I love his style.
He didn't just make Billy Elliot, and then because he was the "star" just wait on his butt till another starring role came along, like so many other child actors have done. He got out there and took smaller roles in independent films and honed his craft as an actor. And now, 10 years later, he's still getting steady work, and really great characters, in both small and big-budget films. I think Jame Bell did it the right way, and I just have so much respect for that guy.
I think he could serve as a good role model for former Billys from BETM- guys, just go out there and take smaller parts and learn your craft. I know it's hard to go down once you've been the star, but look how well it's working for Jamie in the long run

Re: Jamie Bell
I've often thought that this must be a challenge for some of the former Billys . . . having to deal with being the star of one of the top stage musicals in the country, and then having to "earn" their way back up the ladder once they leave the show and start looking for that next role to play. They're basically starting at the top (since the part of Billy is the first role for many of them) and then finding that you probably won't be able to go from one headlining role to another after your time playing Billy is up.jillmichael wrote: I think he could serve as a good role model for former Billys from BETM- guys, just go out there and take smaller parts and learn your craft. Yes, he saw the show in London. In fact, he attended on Opening Night. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/in_pictures/4543379.stm
