Giuseppe's bio from BWW:
Quote:
GIUSEPPE BAUSILIO (Billy) Hi there - my name is Giuseppe Bausilio. I'm 12 years old and am from Bern, Switzerland. Both my parents are ballet dancers and my brother too! I started doing ballet for fun, but it has become my passion. I've also trained in other styles of dance including jazz, flamenco, hip hop, tap and others. I've competed in a lot of different dance competitions in Switzerland, France and the United States including the Youth America Grand Prix in New York. I've performed in Coppelia at the State Theatre of Bern and also in the operas Mazzepa and Falstaff. In my free time I love to study languages (I speak five), read, listen to music, play football, ride my bike and cook. I can't believe I get to be Billy - it's a dream come true!

That's too bad about the youtube videos! :( :(

In addition to the photos of Giuseppe on the AS Ballet site, the scrolling info gives his impressive resume. 8-)

Well, I don't speak German, so didn't get much from the interview portion of the video, but it was great to see Giuseppe's ballet form -- he looks very well trained -- which of course comes as no surprise given that the creative team thinks he's a Billy caliber dancer. I'm looking forward to seeing more of his performance skills.

I liked the little bit of Electricity that he sang, but he will surely have to work on the Geordie accent. 8-)

So Giuseppe is obviously from Switzerland, but has a Portugese Mum and an Italian Dad,
and he speaks both languages - and in addition the Swizerland dialect of German (both,
the interviewer and Guiseppe do that in the interview). In addition he speaks English, French
and a bit of Spanish, as he had been taking part in quite some international Ballet competitions
arond the world already! But he was living in Switzerland and training ballet at the AS Ballet
School in the capital of Switzerland, Bern, when he was discovered by the BETM team and
invited for auditioning in New York for Billy Elliot. In the interview he tells that his dreams
about his future had been before to start one day as a ballet dancer at the Paris Opera -
or maybe in Hollywood (giggling about the latter), but that he was - at the time of the interview -
looking forward now to audition successfully for Billy - and if so, live in the USA for about two
years or so incl. the whole process of the training for the role. 8-)

Link to the AS Ballet School, Bern (sadly the page is only in German):
