I found that part confusing, as it said "recent box-office returns from smaller cities in the South would seem to suggest that it only ever needed one" tour. Not sure what that means, since they've only played in one smaller city in the south so far (Durham,NC) whereas his statement makes it sound like it's already played in several southern cities - unless they're talking about advance ticket sales for Charlotte, NC, Tampa, FL, etc. On the flipside, one could infer that the show's done so well selling tickets so far on the 2nd tour, that they could have gotten by with just that tour, and not done the one in Chicago, Toronto, etc.

In his article, he stated that the show hasn't recouped its investment in Chicago and that they didn't feel like they were going to sell enough tickets over the next 2 months to break even. Seems kind of strange to close up shop now, when December is traditionally one of the heaviest tourist times of the year in Chicago, and would be likely to be a busy time for theater-going.

This video surfaced today on Youtube. It doesn't explicitly say it is(was) for the Chicago production, but the cast and lobby scenes make that obvious. It looks similar to other Chicago promo videos, but the picture quality seems to be vastly superior.
