Playing in your Ear pronunciation question

Post by billeon acts »

Personally I like to hear this line of the song pronounced as usually said, and I think also as Sir Elton sings it as 'ear', however some of the actors pronounce it more like Ear-A more like on the OCR, so neither are wrong but I just wanted to know other people's views on this and which they personally prefer?

I have heard it as ee-ah. They also say hee-ah for here or hear.

It's a Northern thing ;) like when the letter t is sometimes not pronounced when in in the end or middle of a word ("it's a le'er") or like is sometimes loik ("loik electrici'y")
Occam's razor: The simplest answer is the most probable.

Oliver's razor: The most boring answer is the most probable.
