The first part of the video is an excerpt from an amateur video my Brother and I made called "A Tribute To The Modern Musical", where we featured various works by certain composers. That video was made in May, 2011. At Christmas time that same year, I took this excerpt and added the ending. I burned the video to DVD and played it on my home theater system for Mom and two friends.

A nice presentation and I gotta think the gift was well received. However, one slide clearly needed editing: One of my all-time favorites?

Thanks atreyu, the gift was definitely well received, and we ended up having a terrific time at the show! Ty Forhan was Billy that day. He gave an unforgettable performance.

Note that back in 2011, I had only seen BETM once and it became "one of" my all time favorite musicals at that time. Things have changed since then. I'd now rank BETM as my #1 all time favorite!

I recently introduced two of my friends to the DVD of the show. It was a rather strange and awkward experience, although both wanted to see it and knew all about the background. But they hate musicals. I couldn't enjoy it as much as I did before. It was interesting to see the DVD with a bit of a distance, though.
Well, it certainly would have been different if we had seen the actual show. One of them, however, cried during "The Letter" and now wants to visit the show when she's in London, so I guess it wasn't THAT bad...

And of course, the fun that BillyManiacs can have with introducing friends to the show via the DVD, is that we know when people tend to get misty or just start bawling.

So you can make note, or just call them out about their "not liking musicals."

I wonder if many people get the "Wayne Sleep" reference? I only knew who he was because I love Cats. Louie Spense was around in the 1980s I believe, though it's impossible to say "Louie Spense is not a poof" with a straight face, :p
