Love the closing sentence:
"Billy Elliot also contains two of the best lines I’ve heard in a long time ‘You look like a spastic starfish’ and ‘Yer Dad’s as pissed as a platypus’"

What comes across most in Billy Elliot is the staging, hats off to Stephen Daldry this is possibly his best work.
I totally agree with this line.

This popped up today. It's a blog piece on the show although, as the author says, it's not intended to be a review. I've posted it here for lack of a better spot. Though it was written before the latest cast changes, it's got a lot of good info about BETM.

Here's another blogger's review of the show. It's of the May 23rd show with Elliott as Billy:

Re the Bloggers review, I cannot quite understand the comment concerning 'seeing the orchestra playing their instruments', since, at the VPT, the orchestra is below stage level, is not really visible since it is behind a glass partition.

Here's a blogger's review that, while short on specifics (no cast names or specific songs etc mentioned), is glowingly positive (the writer was seeing the show for the 3rd time) and there's even a restaurant review thrown in for good measure
