I'm sure some Billys before Ali used to make a comment of some sort - I seem to remember Josh & Ryan saying something under their breath to Mrs W.

Sorry if these have been posted before. Here are interview clips of Elliott, Liam and Stephen Daldry after the BETML show, funny how they were posted by a Japanese account with Japanese subjects and subtitles.

Fantastic! This is just the promotion needed for the long run at the Media Theatre. It will be several weeks before the Media Production which will run through all the holidays. The weakness of BETM has always been the poor promotion, but PBS will help tremendously.

Miss Saigon Live has toppled Billy Elliot Live in terms of most watched/ticket sales:

It was poorly marketed in the U.S. I didn't know about it until the PBS Great Performances run. I'm a movie fanatic and never saw one preview for it. PBS did the best they could with what they could put out there. The American market could have raked it in more. But hind sight the concept of a musical coming to the the big screen is a bit of a foreign thing to us.

I viewed these clips but no English captions appear (auto-generated by YouTube) over the video (know they are speaking English but with Japanese subtitles inserted by the uploader) (btw Liam's clip has been removed)...wonder if anyone has time and willing to type up in here (in English!) what Elliott and Stephen are saying. (I'm deaf so need subtitles in English not Japanese! ) Yea, I'm asking for a transcript posted in this thread...hopefully. Thanks!

I wish there was more info & clips on each Billy Including the missing Billies with their names appearing on text on video (they all have grown up and I don't know who's now who) & maybe include videos of Electricity scenes by each Billy. I also wish there was a stage view of the entire Billy Elliot Live show on the DVD special features (no cuts or close-up shots)...would be nice to watch this version after watching the edited show so can see what is going on on the sidelines or back. :) Perhaps they will release a special or collector's edition of the DVD.

Seems Elliott Hanna said "go away! at the top after pulling his bed up (angry dance). I still can't make out what Elliott said to his grandma after kissing her hand. Deka said "go get 'em" while pushing Elliott to the front and Elliott said "Cush" after taking his bow. (my lipreading)

I noticed a gaffe--a film shot edit (which to me is a gaffe but maybe not to you ) that no one has possibly mentioned in the Forum. The camera focused on the Small Boy's shoes (black) instead of Billy's shoes (blue Gola trackies) when Billy was singing his first song (take me up and hold me gently)..it kinda threw me off and now I always laugh everytime when I see this gaffe.

ELLIOTT
Tonight was Billy Live and probably the best show I have ever done - it’s really, really exciting and - love to do it again //quite scary but I didn’t let the nerves take control of my body, I just enjoyed the moment to be honest // I’m not sure how many people watched the show live but I’m sure there’s loads // there was lot of rehearsing with loads of cleaning up the dances and stuff but it all paid off // it was just before - like everyone talking to me about “go for it, go for it” - I was just like I’ll try, I’ll try loads, but it did, it went well,// it was great it was - felt so good, felt amazing. Probably just say it was the best experience of my life.

STEPHEN
The show is in fantastic shape. I thought we had a great celebration and having the older Billys, all the kids you know from around the country being in the show before, I think it really demonstrates the legacy of the show, of kids having that sort of extraordinary training erm and extraordinary ability and opportunity to really flourish // I think it’s a great show, but it’s also a very emotional show - it’s a show about a story about a (hesitates to choose word) community in crisis, a family in crisis and struggling to battle over what seems to be impossible odds erm, and I think that translates into any culture and any language// Young Elliott is the youngest Billy Elliot we have ever had performing the role worldwide - he was only 10 when he started performing it, and that was last year, and he is an amazing, amazing chap, I mean real proper determination, proper imagination and incredible talent //Oh it’s just about getting the camera close, and every time the camera was close to the characters it just sang, so it’s a very good advertisement for when we make the movie of the musical
