It was disappointing that the "main" page at...

http://billyelliotthemusical.com/live-in-cinemas/

... didn't list the US dates for the longest time.

I was trying to get the news out to friends, and it wasn't until the dates were nearly upon us that I found out the dates, no thanks to BETM.com... and wrote BETM.com to suggest they list the US dates and get-tickets-links (which didn't happen quickly).

I find it hard to believe that the US screenings were only decided at the last minute, too late to do adequate publicity. But maybe the contract was conditional on a good response elsewhere?

Release date of Billy Live in Belgium and The Netherlands has been postponed to the first of June 2016. I contaced the company where I ordered my copy and they contacted Universal. Universal said they postponed the release date.

Well, life is full of coincidences, isn't it?

Back in July I did contact the Dutch branch of Universal Pictures to inquire about the showing of BETM-Live in Holland and was told they did not intend to do so. So earlier this month my only option to see the show on wide screen was traveling to Antwerp, Belgium.

Meanwhile during this month of November, cast and crew of the Dutch production were working extremely hard in putting up a series of previews, leading up to BETM's opening night in Holland this Sunday the 30th.

Simultaneously, among the torrent of publicity preceding the opening of BETM in Holland, didn't one of the adult cast members express his/her confidence in the viability of the show by mentioning some of them had been contracted for an initial 18 months?

And now, in the very same week the DVD of BETM-Live has been released and the Dutch production of BETM is about to open, BOL.com (one of the Holland's leading retail companies) presents the DVD on its website as being released in November 2014 and available for preordering with expected delivery on June 1, 2016.

Apparently, life is indeed full of coincidences........ ;)

It is indeed a long wait. I cancelled my order and I'm going to buy my copy on Amazon.

Well, being the personification of patience myself, I'm prepared to abide my time for another 7 days when a 45 min. flight will take me to London/VPT/Tesco (in no particular order). :D

After returning from london, have possibly to consult a lawyer whether or not setting up shop in front of the Circustheater selling just one DVD title from the boot of my car would be considered legal or not

I hate the Huff Post, it comes out with some right rubbish.

Well, Merry Christmas Maggie Thatcher is, in the show, sung by miners during the strike. Maybe it would have been appropriate to leave it out on the day of her death but how they feel about Thatcher is an important aspect of the miners' side of the story.

That article seems perfectly straight forward to me--not rubbish at all. It's true that the audience was polled about performing MCMT on the day of her death. All in all, I think it's a good interview with Daldry about his views on the show and Billy Elliot Live.
