Hey, I think you said you were going to put all these messages in a book for the cast and crew?
For us poor shmucks who can't be at the final show, would you be willing to take a picture of it for us to see? I don't mean every page of course. Just a picture of what you are giving them, and if possible, a picture of it being given to them?
Just hoping to live through all you lucky ducks this weekend!

Yes, the messages are going into a booklet, and I will take some pictures of it. It will not be terribly fancy. The pages will be added to a binder with plastic sleeves. The cover will use the poster design, and there will be some blank pages for people to sign in person along with the printed messages. I plan to hand this booklet over to Thommie Retter at the Farewell Celebration on the 6th, along with the poster, so that he can take them backstage that evening. It makes sense that they should be there by the call board for a couple of days before the final show itself so that cast members will have a chance to see them and read the messages before all the hubub of the last show on Sunday.

The deadline is fast approaching (less than 24 hours) if you want your message included in the booklet. If you don't want to post in this thread, you can pm it to me. If you want to send a photo, email it to be.forum@billyelliottheforum.me.uk.

Thanks.

To the Cast, Crew, and Creative Team of BETM:

You will never know how many lives you have touched by your dedication to the arts. Being a big fan of the movie, I first experienced BETM in Chicago with Tommy as Billy, and was absolutely hooked - big time. What drew me in at first was the extreme talent of the Billys and Michaels. Being a long-time junior high teacher, I saw adolescents perform an amazing array of talents that I thought not even possible. As I saw more shows in Toronto, on the tour, and Broadway, I expanded my awe at the production in total. We who love the show and see it over and over pick up on the nuances and minute details that make this play so delicious. I've grown to appreciate your staging of this show, the ballet girls, each adult actor and how "right on" each player seems to be every minute that you're on stage. BETM way surpasses entertainment. For many, it is the deep message of the show that resonates with us in many different ways. But it's your dedication and mastery of your art that takes the whole experience to an unbelievable level. Let me thank you all, from the Billys to the behind-the-scene workers, for bringing magic to our lives in a way I'm not sure you can even imagine. BETM is my passion, and I thank you for it.

Sincerely,

Mark Reinbrecht (inspired)

The booklet is now done. Here are some photos. The entire book has 15 pages of messages, and there will be some pages for people to sign in person. I only uploaded a sample of the pages, as they are all very similar, and you can read the messages here in this thread. 8-)
