DelfontMackintosh have been fast to update their website.

"The Victoria Palace Theatre is currently closed for refurbishment."

The banner of the musicals, that have been brought to public, doesn't contain BETM.
Only if you want to read more details of the production highlights, you will recognize
BETM.

I believe they are no longer 'partners'. They were legally married in Dec. 2014.

Closings are always sad for the fans and the actors. The almost unseemly haste with which the sets are torn down tugs at the emotions. I witnessed ballet girls in tears last night at The Company Theatre, as their Billy Elliot Experience came to an end while the stage crew were tearing down the set - literally before we had left. It is the nature of the beast.

So..what next? Will it come back to the West End or, like North America (and Mexico), become a series of regional productions that allow every theatre the possibility of realizing this great story their own way?

After all, MTI has the authority to steer the future course, in the absence of a West End revival.

I think it will return to the West End! If the film version of the musical gets made, as has been suggested by Stephen Daldry, and said film does well........ I have no doubt it will return!

One hopes.....but on the West End, the pocketbook reigns. It has not returned to Broadway, not because it was not loved, but because it was too expensive to maintain.

It was widely announced that the proceeds of the last show in London would be given to the East Durham Trust to help the community of Easington (where we all know BETM is set). This morning, a check was presented in the Miner's Hall there by Lee Hall and members of the cast of the UK/Ireland Tour of BETM. Looks like the check was for 59K plus.
