Does that mean you were in the audience too?

It really sounds like Los Angeles audiences have been some of the best! I hope you'll give us a review of the show you saw. :D

Because the original Kathy post was here .......

Post by tzwicky »

Because the original Kathy Griffin post was here ....... (Original post was from May 1, 2012) ..... here's an update, even though it's in a weird place.

From then:
tzwicky wrote:In the opening title sequence of Kathy Griffin's new talk show on Bravo, she's seen driving past the Pantages theatre (of course standing in the open sun roof of a limousine, waving at fans) and Billy Elliot is splashed across the marquee.

Hummmmmmmmmmmm, can't believe there aren't other Kathy fans who saw this, (on Thursday night I think).

Maybe I imagined it.

On the one hand, it's only natural that Kathy, with her famous potty mouth, would include a well-known musical famous for its "cursing kids" on her opening reel, but on the other hand, even as a Kathy fan, ummmmmmm, she skews a bit too potty mouthed for the well-behaved kid cast of BETM to match her word for word. So maybe no.

tzwicky

And now ...

So, I didn't imagine it, and with her live Bravo show kicking off again, I can report that Kathy used the same opening title segment so that BETM at its Pantages venue in LA last year is still getting publicity a year later. Maybe Kathy is a BillyManiac, like many here??!!

It's certainly possible, although offhand I can't recall any sightings of Kathy mentioned elsewhere in the Billy world, at shows, etc.
