"Billy Elliot" will end the Bushnell Centre for the Performing Arts (Hartford, CT) Broadway season June 18 to 23, 2013. The 2012-13 Bushnell season was announced tonight:

Ah..the Bushnell.

I sang the alto solo of the Chichester Psalms there under Leonard Bernstein when I was a lad. And quite a few other things. :)

I grew up not far from Hartford and also have fond memories of the Bushnell as a youngster. School field trips to the Bushnell to see some show/concert were very common. I'll have to plan a trip to see BE when it plays there.

I remember those! It was a subscription series for elementary school kids......we went in by yellow buses. I recall hearing Lowell Thomas give his Lawrence of Arabia show that he rekindled when the David Lean movie came out.

For those planning on visiting Hartford when BETM plays there in June, I would strongly recommend a side visit to the Mark Twain House and Museum there:

The Mark Twain House is a must!

Virtually next door is the Harriet Beecher Stowe House, where she wrote 'Uncle Tom's Cabin'.

I think we shared those school trips, Rich.............Bushnell, Wadsworth, Mark Twain House, Stratford Theater......

hey guys I don't really know Hartford, is the downtown pretty compact? Are there some hotels close by to the theatre? What is parking like?
