Looks like the tour is going to hop way to the south in August!

Isn't Portuguese the language of Brazil?

Yes, indeed you are correct - thanks. Google does an auto-detect but does not post what it is. Updated my post.

Exciting to hear that the tour will continue in new places. Hopefully that means it will return to the U.S. at some point to re-visit some of the places it's already been.

Also, in the photo accompanying the article, I believe the Billy is incorrectly identified isn't it ? It says James Lomas in the caption under the picture, but looks more like George Maguire.

As far as I can tell, this will be NETworks first foray into South America.

I guess if you want to test that fast growing market, the proven, well-honed BETM North American Tour is the vehicle to send.

I can see A LOT of upside to doing this, even if it loses money in the short term. Who knows? It may lead to a SA Tour.

Great news. Next should be a Pacific and European tour. The great art of BETM has themes that the entire world will appreciate.

So Billy Elliot The Musical is going to Brazil. This must cost close to a million dollars, so its purpose can't be to make profits. It must be a test to see if this is a good future market.

Remember that Giuseppe's mom is from Brazil, and he speaks fluent Portuguese. He would be a great part of any promotion. It would make a good Summer job. His mom could visit relatives. And the local connection will sell tickets. And we all would love to see it.
