The journey we are taken on by this splendid cast and the dramatic music during the course of two hours is mesmerizing.
They cut an hour? Wonder who got the ax to pull that off? We didn't need to have any scenes with Dad, Mrs. Wilkinson, or the ballet girls, right? ;)
The roadshow has added something not in the original Broadway production we saw in New York a couple of years ago. There is a musical medley of several minutes at the end of the play featuring the entire and we do mean the entire company dancing up a storm with Billy in the lead. It is just a really long curtain call, but it leaves the already inspired audience glowing as they exit the theatre.
Ah, yes, because Broadway never had a finale.

Sorry, just having fun. So happy to see another great review! :D

Here's a not so positive review from a writer on the examiner.com. This review will be sure to elicit some comments from Forum members I'm sure :?

She reveals her prejudice at in her own description of herself. Jacksonville is, shall I say, more religiously fundamental than Clearwater, Naples and W Palm Beach. It is close to Georgia, and you will see lots of Confederate flags there, and the local radio is filled with religious broadcasts.

To each her own; but reviewers should not inflict their personal moral or religious beliefs when reviewing secular stage works.

Well that review "pissed me off". But consider the source Miss Vickie. This is a description of her advertising her web site (don't bother going there, a quick view made me sick)

"Victoria Thomas Poller is a lady who gets out, and LIVES. She has attended and reviewed many plays, concerts, shows and other wholesome venues in Florida, other parts of the U.S. and abroad. This lady is a wife, mother, and grandmother who is also the Jacksonville Christian Living Examiner."

She is a "super Christian" on a wholesomeness campaign. Her blog speaks of how the devil has control of our world. With that kind of closed mind she would NEVER "get it".
