The NY Times' most prominent (and feared ) theatre critic, Ben Brantley, has given this production at the Apollo in London an extremely positive review:

Brantley mentions both films in his review. The first one was Swedish.

Re: Let the Right One In
Not to mention a seriously twisted book...you'd think it'd be impossible to pull off a good movie without going too far but the first one did it really well. The USA one seemed like an unneeded remake but from accounts they did a good job(rare). I REALLY don't see how this translates as a play but seems yet again they pulled off the impossible. Turning the main characters into mid teens(and actors look older then that) looks like a good idea, it was hard enough to pull off on screen. I would say 75% of this play is dependent on the lighting and scenery! as dark and bleak as possible. Little kid vampires are just not going to lite and happy, and this little girl is a sloppy eater.
