I wish him well with his tatoo parlour.

Wow, that is sudden and crazy. I tend to chalk it up to immaturity more than anything though. Stress levels must have been high of course, but he should have at least satisfied his responsibilities for the show and then taken a break afterward. Sad. Just as sad that his friends and family weren't there to help him not make such a drastic move.

By his own words, he lacks the character necessary to do what is a very challenging vocation that he chose.
So, perhaps we should move on and let him have his normal life, whatever that is. It sounds as though he is seeking anonymity; let him have it.

Actually, I wouldn't necessarily dismiss him with a sniff. He may be immature, but you also might consider that even though he is a brilliant dancer because of exceptional physical gifts, perhaps he did not have any real say as a child about whether he wanted to train to be a ballet dancer (or a gymnast). Sometimes parents' (or other people's) visions for children override what the children themselves actually want. I am not saying that this is the case with this young man; indeed, how would I know? But it could be, and if so, he would not be the first person to have been caught in that box.

Indeed! A major theme of Billy Elliot is that parents should not force children into careers that will not make them happy.
