Oh, okay... but it's a nice rumour... :)
Have you seen it in London? I've no problem flying to London regularly because I love that city. "Elektrizitäääät" - that was funny  !!

Since so many in Germany understand English, I don't see a problem with the dialog in German and the songs in English. Europe is multi-lingual.

And I don't see a problem if it would be a full english show - it's the same with the Rocky Horror Show, by the way.

But first... there has to be a tour :) !

It was translated into Korean for the production in Seoul that ran for a year.

But first, the economy of Europe must stabilize. And the economy of Japan must stabilize. Then I believe that there will be at least two more productions of Billy Elliot The Musical.

Hi Kimi - and a pretty much belated hello! 8-)
Regarding a start of BETM in Japan - there was a rumour once to get it started in 2011 - now with the economical sufferings from the Tsunami etc. it would be only wise to have it postponed. But this would not be valid for the quite prosperous economy in Germany - quite a lot of musicals have a long and very successful run just at the moment - and not only in Germany's capital of musicals, Hamburg, but in different major cities as well. Regarding a possible start of BETM in Germany, rumours have been coming up every now and then since 2006 already, please read my - pretty much detailed but still valid - arguments from 2010 here (I think that's the proper thread where we have been talking about this topic):

“It is a great show that people do come and see. Because it's not
just a show for adults, or just for children, or just for people that
like theatre, I'd say for everyone, and it's got so much emotion
behind it. Because who ever comes and sees it, feels the story -
so I think: it's brilliant!" (GM)

Kimi, I'm really, really late in sending a welcome to you too, but wanted to anyway. Years ago I met a friend from Berlin online (he lives in Karlsruhe now) who loved the original movie as much as I did. We stayed in touch online over the years and finally met in 2010. He stayed with my partner and me on Long Island and we saw Billy on Broadway together. We met through Billy years before the musical even existed, and are still great friends. I hope to eventually see the show with him in Germany one day too!

Anyway, welcome to our family here and hope you've been enjoying your stay. =)
