Not sure if this is where this should go but here is a facebook link to some pictures during a race called Dam to Dam in Des Moines. LOVE the tutu brigade as they were called! (if you cannot access it I think you will just need to "like" the Civic Center of Des Moines page.

Fun photos! :D Thanks for the link. The page is public, so it isn't necessary to Like anything to see it.

Iowa native Madison "Maddy" Barnes, who plays one of the Ballet Girls in the touring company, is featured in this Des Moines Register story in advance of the show's opening there next week:

http://www.desmoinesregister.com/articl ... ck_check=1

As an aside, it's noted in the story that Maddy has performed in 732 BETM shows (as BG "Keeley Gibson" and u/s for "Debbie"). That number combines her time in Chicago/Toronto (where she was an original BG beginning in March of 2010) with her stint in the US/CA tour since the Toronto production closed (from November, 2011). It's no wonder cast members consider each other "family", having spent that much time together.

This is possibly the best event I have seen for the Tour to attract teens to come see the musical....

Great! I'm tired of seeing mostly old people at BETM.

I have no objection to old people and I hope to be joining that group soon. But if Billy Elliot The Musical is to become a semi-permanent tour, the audience must have more young people. The promotion for the teens is a great idea. I just hope that the teens of Des Moines did not see the tutu promotion. When will BETM productions realize that tutu promotions make older people laugh but young people think that BETM is very uncool?
