Jacob's mom, Linda, publicly posted this on her Facebook this morning:

"Much to our surprise, Jacob took third place in his weight class at the Sectionals this weekend. He lost to the boy who took 2nd place, pinned another kid and triumphed in the wrestleback to third place. He goes on to State Qualifiers this weekend."

Go Jacob!!

TRULY A YOUNG MAN AFTER MY OWN HEART...

As a lifetime coach, Jacob is an athlete who persued some excellence in the field of sports, at the same time, excelling and performing at the highest level of artistry (ballet-acting) one could ever imagine for a youngster his age.

But, of course, his versatility could not be more apparent...despite the fact I can define a ballet dancer as being amongst the finest athletes in the world. I guess It's the fact that it is the "BE syndrome" in him which has allowed Jacob to carry his extraordinary distinction from the mat to the stage. It is one load that can be extremely difficult for some youngsters to carry. No wonder as a professional singer I can vicariously identify with him, but only because I could never hold a candle to his artistic beauty, and the fact that his courage to "BE Himself" was a burden I was too frightened to carry when his age.

Can't help but think of comparable lessons we might experience from a "Musical" we all
know so well.

Fantastic, Jacob. Just keep moving..!

Oh, My;
Would I have loved to have coached this kid..? Lordy be, Would I have..! Watching him dance and act was pure magic...and as a life long wrestler/coach, to have been able to watch him in the center circle of a mat, would have been an extraordinary contrast which seems almost incomprehensible to me. I only met Jacob once, but must express deep and profound respect for his taking on such a competitively brutal sport as wrestling, particularly after such a memorable artistic run as Billy.

He doesn't need me to say it...but I'm proud as punch of him.

This is kind of late notice, but if you can, set your VCR or DVR to record Saturday Night Live. Jacob is supposed to appear in a skit with Eli Manning, according to a post on his mom's public Facebook.

Is this the skit she was talking about ? If so, I never did see Jacob in it. :cry: But from 0:59-1:05, you might notice none other than Joseph Harrington ! He's in the group of kids holding the dodge balls, and is also the kid running off to avoid getting shot by an arrow fired by Eli Manning. http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/ ... rs/1400045

Yes that was Jacob. His mom added this to her Facebook post this morning: "Very quick sideshot of him with a baseball in his mouth, I hear. But hey, he was on SNL! Haha"
