Lol. That guy seemed to labor just to write the few words he wrote about the show. He seems very disinterested. Maybe he was the guy Geredith referred to in her review who was checking his cell phone during "Electricity"

Re: Chicago Opening Night
Another review of last night's show from steadstylechicago. This actually contains two reviews, sort of point/counterpoint, written by two different reviewers:
http://www.steadstylechicago.com/billyelliot.htm
One thing the second reviewer says is ""Billy Elliot The Musical" is scheduled through August 8, 2010 at the Ford Center for The Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre located at 24 West Randolph Street. But I would think if ticket sales are what I anticipate them being, this show could be here for many months longer than that."
As we know, his prediction came true today as ticket sales have now been extended to October 24, 2010.

Re: Chicago Opening Night
Here's a review by the theater writer of nwi.com, Philip Potempa. I posted a story by him about the Chicago production on the weekend in the "Chicago Publicity" thread.

Geri:
How did you like the view up close? I have heard the stage is higher than The Imperial and may be a problem for viewing. I have some seats up front next month and was just wondering...

A kind of mixed review appears on the NewCity Stage website:

Re: Chicago Opening Night
Its not as good as front row in the Imperial, but not as bad as front row in the VP. The stage is high, from B, which is the third row, not second (didn't see what the first row was marked), I was only missing a small bit of foot. Its worth it though for the closeness.Geri:

LONDON: Liam M (1), Tom (3), Rhys Y (2), Dean Charles (1); NEW YORK: Trent (11), Tommy (10), Kiril (9), David (8), Tanner (3), Liam R (3), Dayton (3), Michael D (3), Alex (2), Jacob (1); CHICAGO: Tommy (1), Giuseppe (1), Cesar (1) = 63 shows total

Re: Chicago Opening Night
That is an excellently thought out review.
