By coincidence Spiderman will have run almost exactly the same length as BETM. Each opened in November and closed in January, 3 years and 2 months later.

Vegas should rename it 'Cirque de Arachnid'.

It suits Vegas to a T...and vice versa.

I can't understand taking a 60million dollar loss on one show. Billy was only $14M with a million blown on the bedroom. Plus they needed +$1M :shock: to just break even on costs a week

The high (over $1M per week) operating cost was noted a couple of years ago when the show first opened. Back then the only hope was to fill the house every night and sell lots of premium priced tickets. Even at that rate, it would take many years to make any money. For a while the show was grossing in the top ten every week, but not since late this summer. They probably had to cut it loose before it lost much more money. Lots of lessons to be learned here if you are a producer or an investor.
