Los Angeles, CA
Re: Los Angeles, CA
No idea what happened... but suddenly the first L.A. performance comes up as Tuesday, April 10 rather than the following day. The main tour site still says the engagement begins 4/11. Amazing that there is just one day down after the San Antonio closing (and the Mama Mia closing at the Pantages).

If that turns out to be the case, then there IS a second set.mxmx wrote:No idea what happened... but suddenly the first L.A. performance comes up as Tuesday, April 10 rather than the following day. (Makes sense to have two, really, considering the heavy use and possibility of something breaking or needing refurbishment. Building two at the same time would be less expensive than building a second later.)
Re: Los Angeles, CA
You're right. Even if they started striking in San Antonio on Sunday evening they couldn't possibly do the drive and the set up on Monday and be ready for Tuesday night. A second set along with props & costumes may have been put together from the Toronto and New York spoils, perhaps along with some pre-revamp items from San Francisco. Since L.A. is a longer and more prominent stop, perhaps they want to make it a bit more elaborate. One can hope.

Re: Los Angeles, CA
There is actually a 9 or 10 day gap (depending on when LA actually begins) between San Antonio and LA. The San Antonio dates are March 28 to April 1 (not April 10th).mxmx wrote:No idea what happened... but suddenly the first L.A. performance comes up as Tuesday, April 10 rather than the following day. Aha! So the final week in San Antonio was canceled. The tour site is so slow in keeping information up to date. It STILL says San Antonio closes 4/8 in the main list.

In case it's missed in the publicity thread... in anticipation of the L.A. opening, the film is being screened at the Chinese Theater this coming Monday, March 12, with a Q&A following with local original Broadway cast members Greg Jbara and Kiril Kulish.

Nice to see the entire cast listed in this note publicizing the Tour's stop in Los Angeles.

Dudes!
I'm hopping across the pond to LA for the weekend of May 12th/13th.
Anyone planning to be in town then?
Also... how can one get tickets better than the dreck showing up on Ticketmaster?
Thanks.
It's going to be totally sick... unless they cancel the last week... will go to Vegas instead

Re: Los Angeles, CA
My guess is that they will release seats later after subscribers have a shot...could be. Very last min though.
Re: Los Angeles, CA
Do you think they'll extend the LA run if the tour does well here? They have a pretty big gap between LA and Des Moines, 5-13 to 6-12. I hope they'll continue with their original sit down plan.
