"ABSOLUTELY "FAB-U-LOUS",

I was utterly thrilled when I came across this news through the National Media earlier this morning. Having observed so many Debbies across the globe, I admit with prejudice, that Lilla Crawford moved me most by virtue of her exquisite stage presence, her natural vivacious and animated expressiveness, and pure acting ability. Coming from such a young and tiny gal I just found her presentations to be nothing less than extraordinary the times I was fortunate to see her perform. She certainly is a "diamond in the rough" having been selected through a nation wide search of some 5000 young girls who auditioned for the role of Annie. Wow! She's the one!!!

I wonder if for a moment I thought her future success to be fortuitous when viewing her a few times in BE and being so impressed by her performance at that time? Well, now she has captured the one role I suspect might be the most coveted on Broadway for a girl her age and I'm sure all members of the Forum have to be proud as punch for "one of our own" to have secured such an elevated professional assignment. Frankly, "Annie" has never been amongst my most cherished musical-theater experiences, but you can be sure with Lilla Crawford in the lead role, I know such a feeling will be eagerly displaced.

Anyway, just had to throw in my two cents worth on Lilla's behalf. Wow! I'm thrilled to death for her as you can tell.

Regards, Colin

Lilla is in a new commercial for Nike, called "Nike: Make the Rules." Just in case you're wondering, she's the one in the boxing gear. I wonder if that was just by chance, or if the makers realized the connection to BETM. 8-)
Go to http://search.espn.go.com/s/404/?ref=ht ... F&404=true and select the third video in the line.

Here is another interview with Lilla about her upcoming role in "Annie". Not only is she strong in acting, singing, and dancing, but she can do card tricks too! 8-)

Here's an article about the girls in Annie. It compliments Lilla for "taking great care not to abuse her leading-lady status by monopolizing the conversation." :D

In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy this was something very nice to hear about. Lilla and others from the Broadway community gathered in Times Square this afternoon and sang "The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow" and other songs to raise funds for the Red Cross. :D
