Hi from Lindsay

Hi! My name is Lindsay and I'm from California. I run a website for child actors on Broadway called Young Broadway Actor News. Additionally, I am a student/part time web designer and I plan to major in Theater Arts/Computer Information Systems in college.

Welcome to the forum, Lindsay. Hope you enjoy it here.

You seem to be quite a fan of Broadway shows. Have you seen BETM in London, NY or on tour?

Hi Lindsay, welcome to the Forum! :D I gave a quick glance at your Website. It came up a bit small on my screen, but I'll have to check on my home computer later. I did notice that you had a Shannon Tavarez section there, which I'm touched to see. Though I didn't know Shannon, I was very moved by her story before and after her sad passing. Tony Award winning Billy Trent Kowalik was instrumental in encouraging thousands of people to get swabbed and help Shannon and others out, and I was so proud of him for stepping up to help her. And when she was included in the Tony Awards In Memorium section, because I had forgotten about her that night, I was brought to tears right away (as I am now just thinking of it). I hope people involved with Websites for young Broadway stars will always remember and feature Shannon prominently! And thank you for doing so! =)

Like Ellen, I'm also looking forward to hearing your thoughts on BETM and where you saw it. =)

Welcome to our happy family and hope you enjoy your stay here! :D

Thank you guys so much!

Ellen and Sean, I've actually never seen "Billy Elliot" . I'm going to see it in the spring when it comes to Los Angeles. I'm in love with the score, though. It's gorgeous. I am a huge fan of other Broadway shows. I've seen "Memphis", "Lion King", "Spring Awakening", "Wicked", "Legally Blonde", "Spamalot", "Mary Poppins", and "In the Heights".

When I heard about Shannon Tavarez's diagnosis and her eventual passing, it hit me hard. She was a beautiful and talented young lady. She was living her dream and it was all taken away from her so quickly, it wasn't fair. I started researching leukemia more and I am sad that I cannot get swabbed yet due to not being of age. When I saw her in the "In Memorium" section of the Tony's, it made me feel happy because I saw how much a small child could affect the Broadway community.

Well, I hope you're prepared to see the best musical of all time. Ok, I'm biased, but that doesn't mean it's not the best.

I hope that you will get the chance to see it in Los Angeles, Lindsay. We are keeping our fingers crossed that the tour will not be closing permanently after its last show in San Francisco on Sunday. http://www.billyelliottheforum.me.uk/fo ... =85&t=2919
