Have to agree with dancingboy that Kaine performed extremely well on his debut with a very confident performance, and for me looked like a young James Lomas at times (especially in profile view).
Couldn't have been easy with all the new cast on stage, but you sailed through it Kaine with great confidence and brilliant acting, singing & dancing.
Well done, a great start to your Billy career and another great debut at the VP from London's latest Ballet Billy.

There was great excitement arriving at the VPT on Saturday and seeing Kaine’s name on the board-at-the-door. At last, a chance to see the new Billy in action.

Way back in the early days of space travel and when the moon landings were achieved thousands of little boys dreamed of becoming astronauts like their heroes. Some eventually made it and it must have been quite something to finally reach outer space and proclaim Mother Earth from on high. Reading the programme notes written by Kaine he tells us that he was brought along this time last year to see the show as a birthday present and a year later he’s in it. This is quite an extraordinary achievement by any standards but especially by the standards laid down for this truly amazing and difficult role. It is Roy of the Rovers stuff brought to a new level.

Saturday’s performance was beautifully paced, greatly acted, wonderfully sung and amazingly danced. You would have been hard-pressed to convince anyone that he is hardly a wet week in the show. Thankfully, the audience was HUGE (even people in the boxes) and were involved all the way through and loving every second of it. As always, for me, the final pose at the end of a superb Electricity was as an emotional occasion as ever it has been. There's nothing better than watching a dream come true. The audience gave a wonderful and fully deserved standing ovation at the end of the show. During those fantastic three hours Kaine took us all as high as the Moon. But he wasn’t content with that. He turned into a star.
