I suppose we ought to mention that the more central you can get the better (obviously :D ). If looking at row B of the stalls then the regulars prefer B15 - B19. I don't find B21 bad but other people have differing opinions. These seats are on the left of the stage (from the audience perspective).

On the right hand side B6 - B14 are the preferred seats (although B14 to B10 seem to be house seats and not bookable). I don't know if it is just me but I tend to be able to see more of the actors feet from these seats (I'm 6'1'') than I can on the left (due to the angle of the stage and the rake), but of course most of the action takes place on left hand side of the stage. I've sat wide on the right (B2) and whilst not ideal it is better than anything on the far left.

Don't be tempted by the £95 seats - they are just not worth it.

Hi,

Just a quick question - what are seats R19 and R20 like in the stalls?

I'm booking some for january and these are on offer. I can see that they're pretty central but are they ridiculously far back?

Thanks.

Here's the seating chart from the Victoria Palace. http://www.victoriapalacetheatre.org/seating/
As you can see, row R is quite far back, and I believe it is underneath the Dress Circle overhang. The blank area for rows U and V represents the location of the sound board.

I was also going to give you a link to Theatremonkey's seating plan for the VP, which rates seats for value, but their site seems to be down at the moment. You can try it later at http://www.theatremonkey.com .

I don't get it.... are you all planning on going on a specific night? Is there some sort of special night going on? Why do you need to know where people are sitting?

Not aware of any special night. I think R.A.C. was just asking a general seating question.

R.A.C. you'll not be dissapointed further back in row R, personally I enjoy it, back there, as you really get to see all the lighting effects plus the footwork in the dancing routines.
Wow! what I'd give to be let loose on that lighting board, good memories from the past you might say.

Ah thats great news, thanks. I'm taking a friend who's never seen it and didn't want him to miss out seeing anything! Its the two seats next to the center aisle so that can't be a bad thing. Im veryyy excited, I haven't seen it in 3 years!

Here's the link to the seating chart from theatremonkey.com. It's working today.

The reason I was concerned about Dress Circle overhang is that if you are under it, it cuts off the top of Billy's flight. But that doesn't seem to be the case with seats in row R. And since you are close to the center, those seats should be quite good.

I'm going on a trip to Europe this summer, a cruise on the Danube, but specifically have booked a trip to London on my way home to see You-Know-What. I'll be there July 11-12. The postings above have been of great help in deciding where to buy my tickets. I prefer to be close enough to see the actors' faces, but not so close that I can't see all of the stage floor. Stalls rows E-F (center) are available and just in front of what the ticket site calls premium seats (with highest price). Would any of you who have been to the theatre be okay with those seats?

It's been much too long since Grand Rapids!!

Thanks,

Mark
